CAPLINQ supports Shin-Etsu LED Silicone products

CAPLINQ today reached an agreement with Shin-Etsu Chemical to represent its line of specialty LED silicone materials to its customer base in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Under the terms of the agreement, CAPLINQ will provide technical and sales support to promote Shin-Etsu’s line of KJR, LPS, and SWC silicones with focus on those products designed for for LED and LED-module assembly for the general lighting market.

LEDs Love Silicone

To meet the hotter, longer life (>80,000 hrs), more UV and thermally stable demands of the LED industry, silicones are the only cost-effective option. As one of the world’s top three raw silicone manufacturers, Shin-Etsu is one of only a a handful of companies capable of offering cost-effective specialty silicone solutions. Specifically for the fast-growing LED industry, Shin-Etsu is the only global company capable of supplying a complete range of silicone solutions for LED applications including premolded reflectors, die-attach, encapsulant, phosphorus carrier and lens

A natural fit

The range of silicone materials offered by Shin-Etsu Chemical complements the strategic direction of CAPLINQ, whose aim is to supply a complete line of consumable materials to semiconductor manufacturers thereby enabling them to reduce their time-to-market.

“Shin-Etsu Chemical’s LED Silicones are the answers to what our customers have been asking for,” stated Chris Perabo, Business Development Manager of CAPLINQ. “With Europe’s focus on and support of LED and photovoltaic companies, there has been tremendous request to provide the silicone materials that Shin-Etsu can now offer. The partnership of our two companies in this joint effort will allow a larger European customer base to appreciate what Shin-Etsu can offer them.”
