Garrett Schrum celebrates 9 months at CAPLINQ as Sales Engineer

I am happy to announce that as of September 4th, 2021, Garrett Schrum celebrated his 9 months anniversary with CAPLINQ Americas as Sales Engineer. Working out of our offices in Livonia, Michigan, USA, Garrett has and will continue to lead our technical sales efforts of our specialty chemicals and plastics in the Americas.

Announcement comes better late than never!

Though Garrett has now been with CAPLINQ for more than 9 months, the COVID-pandemic made his welcome announcement difficult to make without being able to travel between Europe and the USA.  We didn’t want to let the opportunity pass us by however and wanted to at least recognize his contribution to the team.

I really enjoy finding patterns in different things and have always enjoyed piecing together how parts of a system work together.  I look forward to working with customers to help them make it all come together.

Garrett is our first US employee having started only 10 days after incorporating as CAPLINQ Americas, Inc. in Detroit, Michigan.  The expansion in the USA comes after our successful track record in Canada, Europe and Asia attracted both customers and suppliers who asked us about our American expansion plans.

As the first employee in new company expansion during a global COVID-pandemic, Garrett has had his hands full since the first day.  While learning the CAPLINQ product lines and business systems, he also was instrumental in getting our US office and warehouse setup and running.

Garrett comes to us as a graduate from the University of Cincinnati where he received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.  During his time at school he completed multiple co-op terms that gave him an understanding of process development and specialty chemicals.

Garrett has lived in many states in the US, including Georgia, different parts of Ohio and South Carolina.  He most recently lived in Michigan and will continue to live there as he works from the CAPLINQ Americas Inc. office in Livonia, MI.

In his free time, Garrett enjoys playing video games, learning chess, spending time with friends, and discovering new music.

Garrett to support and serve our American customers

Key to this role will be to support customers in their product qualification process including making product recommendations and providing technical support in making these products work in customers’ production environment.

Organizationally, Garrett will report to the Global Sales Director but will interact with all departments as he understands and implements the technologies that CAPLINQ can offer its customers.

Chris is an energetic and enthusiastic engineer and entrepreneur. He is always interested in taking highly technical subjects and distilling these to their essence so that even the layman can understand. He loves to get into the technical details of an issue and then understand how it can be useful for specific customers and applications. Chris is currently the Director of Business Development at CAPLINQ.
